West Street Baptist Church & Christian Centre is a Bible believing Evangelical Church which has met in the heart of Dunstable for the past 170 years. Today we are a church community which meets on Sundays as a larger congregation of around 350 and throughout the week in a large number of smaller groups. We seek to preach the Bible clearly and relevantly, desiring to serve God by reaching out to our local community with the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ in this modern world. The church has a vibrant children’s and youth work for young people of all ages, with many families, young people and older friends in the congregation, whether single or married.
A major part of our ministry to our town is through the work of The Way, which is our Christian Community Centre located a few yards from the main church building on West Street, Dunstable. The Way is open seven days a week for most of the hours of the day, running a broad range of community activities for a wide group of people and individuals. These groups include a wide range of Children's & Youth clubs, both midweek and at the weekends. In addition, we run many other successful groups which are in high demand from within the local community; for example, Senior Moments (for senior citizens), Toddlers! (twice a week), Painting for Pleasure, Keep Fit, Knit and Natter, Christianity Explored (lunchtimes and evenings), and many other regular events throughout the month. Free tea and coffee is served at The Way at our front bar from Monday to Saturday, 10am to 2pm, so why not come in and visit us to find out more of what’s on offer at The Way.
You can be assured of a warm welcome if you would like to join us either on Sundays at church, or via The Way by joining activities held week by week in our Christian Community Centre. Feel free to contact us directly or visit our main church website.
West Street Baptist Church & Christian Centre, along with all the ministries and activities of The Way, are led its one full time minister - Mark Lawrence. The church is affiliated to the FIEC (Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches)
